Back home - Disney wrap-up

April 23rd, 2008 | by Sean |

Just didn’t have it in me to post the last couple days in Florida, and then there was the catch-up at home and at work. I have added the last few photos to the gallery and thought I’d wrap this up for my adoring fan(s).

Our last day in Florida was mostly spent at Magic Kingdom. We waited in line and did the Splash Mountain ride, and then fiddled around here and there until the kids said they wanted to go home, around 1pm. Most of the fiddling was waiting 40 minutes in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, only to have them cancel it when we got to the end of the line. I was *not* impressed.

Lunch, some time in the pool, and then we talked the kids into going back for a few more hours. We actually found a show with a wait time of only 5 minutes, so we felt compelled to go it. It was Stitch’s Great Escape, kind of cute. We did the Monsters Inc comedy show… in which I was featured as “That Guy” (I even got a sticker, woot)… and then waited around for the fireworks. After a while we gave up waiting, and decided to try to beat the crowd back to the parking lot, which we mostly did. The fireworks started as we were about halfway back on the ferry, so we got a good view of most of it.

An early morning and back to the airport, then the flight to Detroit. I have to say that driving to Detroit and flying domestically is not a bad way to get around the US. Certainly the border at Sarnia is a lot quicker than most airports.
